The Bad Ballerinas Team
Who Are We?
Tamara Hadley, the owner of T-Cards by Bad Ballerinas, is the creator, artist & designer of the hundreds of fine greeting cards, notes & gift items. A Principal Dancer with Pennsylvania Ballet for 20 years, followed by as many years in the role of Ballet Mistress (the primary assistant to then Artistic Director, Roy Kaiser) of the Company, Tammy carved out a reputation as one of the most beautiful ballerinas of her time.
Dancing most all of the famous ballerina roles in Classical, Balanchine and Contemporary works over two decades, one stands out in her memories of most cherished roles ~ the lead dancer in "Under the Sun", choreographed by Margo Sappington. It was in this wonderful, original work that she first partnered with her future husband, William DeGregory. It has figured prominently in her love of the Sun!
William DeGregory, the Operations Manager that keeps T-Cards by Bad Ballerinas running smoothly, Bill danced as a Principal Dancer with Pennsylvania Ballet for 23 years! Dancing all of the major Premiere Danseur roles, he became known for his flawless technique, engaging personality and audience rapport. In addition to their individual accomplishments, Tammy and Bill were well known for their breath-taking partnership, where they did indeed "become one" on the stage. Following his retirement from the stage, Mr. Kaiser tapped Bill's skills as a teacher, organizer and leader to become the Director of the new Pennsylvania Ballet School.
Rounding out the "Bad Ballerina Team" is Sister, Deborah Hadley, the resident "Do-er of Stuff"! Debby spent the bulk of her performing career as a Principal Dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she was recognized as instrumental in the rise of the Company to its top, national status. Upon retiring, she continues to adjudicate and teach for Regional Dance America.
While performing, Tammy and Debby often danced the same roles, worked with the same choreographers and stagers of ballets, and toured to the same cities in the US. The uniqueness of sister ballerinas, both rising to the ranks of principals in major US companies, led to a wonderful opportunity to be included in the New York Times bestseller photo-essay book "SISTERS".
